Part XII | The Jaguar Junction | The Rainforest Spring


Scene {1} Jaxie and the Grasshopper walk together in conversation along a rainforest path headed toward the Jaguar Junction and the children's would-be community school.


Grasshopper: “What a bunch of idiots!”


Jaxie: "Yea, guess that lion was right.”


Grasshopper: “That's what Simba said about the ones that stole him as a cub from the Lion King. Idiots. But not you Jaxie!"


The Grasshopper begins to sing: "You hop so high.


Jaxie: "Yes!"


The Grasshopper (sings): "To see the tallest trees. And what did you find?"


Jaxie: "Sparkling mist..." The Grasshopper runs off down the path toward the Jaguar Junction.


Jaxie: Stops singing and calls after the Grasshopper. "Wait! I didn't finish the song!" Jaxie heads off down the path after the Grasshopper.

The Grasshopper had vanished down the Jaguar Path and entered an old, wooden, rotten shed with a few chairs and school desks inside. The Grasshopper jumped on the desk top and waited. Eventually, Alessandro, a young boy from the U.S. looks in and sees the Grasshopper inside.
