The Piano Maker said the Golden Piano's songs & music were "Her Stories" - the stories of Ragtime Maple's family and the families of her Jazz Quartet and their ancestors. "Her Stories" also include music of the history of the Golden Archers and their families' stories. All told, 100 million years of musical history.

The Piano Maker lived on a distant planet called "Uriel." He forcibly {1} had a "granddaughter" with his daughter when she was approximately 19 years old. His granddaughter, originally a seer named "Völva" after the Norse word for prophetess, was frightened by her own vision {6} and had herself turned into Gold by her mother and "grandfather." The planet's magic guild punished the mother for having allowed her daughter to be turned into Gold and turned the mother into Glass.

The grandfather made a Golden Piano which carries all the music of its past with it, where ever it goes. If you listen, sometimes you can hear it play.

{6} "Völva" had a vision of a competition at the End of the Era which predicted that only the Golden Archers would survive their planet's destruction, so "Völva" decided she wanted to be Golden too, in order to ensure her own survival.
