Part II | The Rainforest Spring | Democratic Republic of Congo

Bellie and Bagheera left the Central African Republic shortly after the boy in the canoe picked up Junior. The journey south lasted about two days for the Giant Black Jaguars. When they arrived at the Rainforest Spring, they found their cubs swimming and a few children investigating, including the boy who brought Junior from the north.

“The water's warm mama!” Junior called out when he saw his mother's grin reflected in the rainforest pool, her long, black, velvety tail swishing slowly off in the distance.

Bellie was lapping water gently. Junior swam around the pool until he grew tired and the boy who brought him left with a friend. When the children returned the next day, Bellie's mate, Bagheera had arrived. The children said the wind carried with it news of an aqueduct for the Rainforest Spring. Bagheera settled down to wait.
